Featured Roast/Torréfaction de la semaine: Yemen Mocha Ismaili

We welcome back the Yemen Mocha Ismaili.  A Yemen Mocha to savour. Tiny little beans with a great deal going for them.

I have previously talked a little about the history of coffee in Yemen, as it refers to the other Yemen coffee that we have carried, the Yemen Mocha Mattari. You will find some of that here and here.

One of the highest grown coffees in Yemen, at altitudes of over 2000 metres (6000 – 7000 ft), the Ismaili is one of the countries most coveted. Even locally!

This is a coffee with great complexity. Not the sweetest, but rather spicy, full flavours.

Featured Roast/Torréfaction de la semaine: Ethiopian Sahama

My apologies for being lax on posting the features since the beginning of the year. I am (have been) duly reprimanded!

The featured roast for this round is the return of the Sahama from the region of Kaffa in Ethiopia. A return to the source! For more on this coffee look here.

Rather as follows:

Featured Roast/Torréfaction de la semaine: Continuing to Mix Things Up

The extra special coffees being featured for the season continue. The Blue Mountain  of Haiti, the Santa Cruz of Galapagos, the Mount Everest Supreme of Nepal, the Mocha Ismaili of Yemen are all coffees of singular origin, all unique, all exceptional. Of all of these the newest to the list is that of Nepal.

The Mount Everest Supreme is an organically high grown coffee. A beautiful full taste with tones of dark berried fruits, even a bit of dried fruit and a hint of fresh tobacco.

Brews up well as a pour over, French press and an exceptional espresso!

Featured Roast/Torréfaction de la semaine: Mixing Things Up

Over the past couple of weeks I have been neglectful in regards to the posting of the “Feature Roasts” here at Art Brûlant.

Catching up a bit on that we have had a number of features since the last posted Cuban Caracolillo. So far we have had a roasting of the Haitian Blue Mountain, the Tanzanian Shiwanda Estate Pea Berry and a Galapagos Islands coffee from Santa Cruze.

The coffee from Galapagos, another rare one from Yemen, and yet another from Nepal are all on for December as Holiday Features.

Enjoy
