Featured Roast: Cuban Caracolillo

This week’s featured roast is a new one for Art Brulant. The Cuban Caracolillo is a Pea Berry that comes from the Escambray plateaus in the Crystal Mountains of Central Cuba.

The particular characteristics of a soil rich in mica and quartz crystal, combined with the mild climate and frequent rains, form an ideal microclimate for growing coffee.

Aside from the novelty of being a Pea Berry (representing less than 2% of the area’s total production) this coffee produces an intense flavour with good body and bitter chocolate tones.
