Featured Roast: Sumatra Blue Tawar

Lake Tawar is situated near the city of Takengon in the region of Aceh on the island of Sumatra of the Indonesian Archipelago.

This northern region of Sumatra has been growing coffee for a long time. Lake Tawar was one of the first places in Sumatra that the Dutch brought coffee cultivation to.

This rare coffee the “Blue Tawar” of the “catimor” variety cultivated here for centuries at altitudes of over 1350 metres, is completely sun dried. It is very intense flavoured, bold, with a long finish.
