Signs of Spring………….Warblers, Warbling Vireos & Veerys

In the Northern Hemisphere (despite our very warm temperatures) summer is from the Summer Solstice until the Fall Equinox. So it is still spring! So I can still write of “Signs of Spring…..” for a little while!

  • Yesterday it was Warblers and Warbling Vireos. Today it is the Veery and it is neither. Rather a Thrush. I like the two tones at once on that decending spiral of a call.
  • We have also had a Catbird about the yard as well.
  • I noticed some False Solomon’s Seal in bloom this morning.
  • And last night on the way home I noticed the wild plums seem to have fruit forming already. And a great deal as well.
