Although spring has officially started the weather is still quite cool! A low of -16c is predicted for the Pontiac for Sunday. The sun does manage to warm the house during the day, but a fire in the woodstove at night is nice.
As for actual signs of spring I have been hearing the squeaky door call of the Grackles. I saw a couple of them in the Elm next to the house yesterday upon arriving home. With the squeaky call of the Grackles, the “peak-a-boo” of the Starlings and the varied squeaks, gurgles and honks of the Blue Jays, the “music” at sunrise can be quite something.
In the garden I am seeing Daffodil and tulip shoots braving the open air. I haven’t seen any signs of the Crocus’ yet.
